Job #172 - Software Engineers (Java, Web - core development)
Category:
Java/J2EE, Software Architect, Algorithms

Salary range:
$70,000 - $130,000

Location:
Newton, Massachusetts

Description:
Our long-time client-partner is currently seeking highly skilled Software Engineers of all levels (entry to lead) to assist in the design, development and maintenance of their product: a *high traffic* consumer facing live website that generates Millions of page views daily. Lots of openings on the Server Team (core development) as well as the Presentation / User Interface Team.

Smart, fast-learning software engineers without Java experience are also encouraged to apply - assuming of course that you have strong fundamental software engineering/computer science experience and truly understand how to deliver a software product from conception through release + several upgrades. Releases here occur daily, weekly and for the bigger projects, monthly.

Company is HIGHLY profitable and needs to hire 20+ software engineers (all levels) just to keep up with the constant growth and demand for their product. They also have big plans for product internationalization (Japan, China) offering specific content relative to the particular region/country the millions of users each live in.

Requirements:

- 2 to 10+ years of software development experience.
- Advanced Computer Science degree (BS or MS) or other. Highly talented software engineers w/o advanced degree will also be considered.
- Java, Linux/Unix experience is required. Some sort of Web experience is preferred, but not required.
- Shipped product + several upgrades. For entry-level engineers: non-academic internships are preferred, but not required.
- Passion for building high-quality software.

Employees are treated awesome and developers are given some of the sickest monitors and development machines (Linux or Mac) i have ever seen. Current development team includes about 30-40 very smart software engineers, with practically zero turn over in engineering. Bivium has placed numerous software engineers here over the years and is very closely partnered with all of the key decision makers.

Salary: up to 130k or so, depending on experience + highly valuable stock and great benefits. Company offers a fast paced, challenging work environment - autonomous division of a larger company with a 'start-up' feel, minus the crazy startup hours.

Location: Newton, MA [*brand new plush office space in Newton to open very soon*]
